ABOUT

Ami Sumareh is a Liberian-American Art Director, Photographer, and Designer based in London, whose practice bridges image, text, archive, and sound to reconstruct and reactivate the memory of the African diaspora. Rooted in tactility and embodied experience, her work explores how knowledge of the past can be reshaped into culturally relevant design.

Sumareh’s work operates at the intersection of the ancestral and the contemporary, shaping cultural narratives that honor where we come from while asking what that inheritance means for how we live now and how we project our being into the future.

She holds a BA in Graphic Design and an MA in Design for Art Direction
