Quantum Groove is a recurring listening event that highlights sound as memory and movement. It asks us to listen beyond ourselves, to listen beyond our current time. 

Through curated listening sessions, the work considers how the practice of Quantum Listening can serve as a method for accessing and preserving the sonic memory of the Black diaspora, thus offering a space for reflection and connection. This project also reimagines the DJ as a sonic archivist, a conduit through which ancestral sound can be reactivated. The listening sessions ask attendees to listen deeply, sensing the vibration of collective memory through sound. 





The Quantum Groove evokes feelings of eternal enjoyment, a profound connection to movement, and a lingering tether to the past that continues to resonate in the present. It brings together the principles of Quantum Listening with the understanding of the oral and sonic archive as vital repositories of African diasporic memory. Within this, I merge the notion of the Groove as a site of musical movement, memory, and connection, and recognize the DJ as the orchestrator of this experience.
