How can the concept of archives become relevant for today’s generation of the Liberian diaspora through textile and clothing?

Weaving the Archive is a printed zine that explores how textile and clothing can make archival thinking relevant to a younger generation of the Liberian diaspora. Challenging traditional ideas of the archive as fixed or institutional, the project considers who gets to decide what is preserved and how cloth can function as a living archive through which cultural knowledge is carried and passed down. The editorial design draws from traditional Liberian country cloth stripweaving patterns and incorporates archival textile imagery to build a visual language rooted in material memory.
